Ghee and cooking oil prices

Ghee and cooking oil prices may rise up to 150 rupees per kilogram, industry officials warned. The increase is expected due to higher production and transportation costs, affecting both manufacturers and consumers across the country.

The Vanaspati Manufacturers Association (PVMA) reported that the price hike could range from 100 to 150 rupees per kilogram. They explained that rising fuel prices have directly increased the cost of running ghee mills, making production more expensive and challenging.

Moreover, PVMA advisors said that higher petroleum product prices have pushed up transportation costs for ghee and cooking oil. They emphasized that mills are facing an unbearable increase in operational expenses, which is now being reflected in market prices.

In addition, PVMA urged the government to take immediate steps. They recommended forming a committee or panel to explore measures that could stabilize prices. Officials stressed that timely government intervention is necessary to prevent further hardship for consumers.

Finally, ghee and cooking oil prices may rise up to 150 rupees per kilogram if costs remain high. Industry representatives reaffirmed the need for government action to control price surges and ensure affordability for ordinary consumers.
